- Reporting to the Director, Central FP&A, this person will build and run the models, processes, and reporting behind those cycles, and help shape how a growing FP&A function works at Expeditors.
- We will hire at the Senior Financial Analyst or Manager level depending on experience.
- At the Manager level, the role takes broader ownership of forecast and reporting cycles, leads workstreams across Finance, and reviews the work of others as the team grows.
- We're looking for someone who has done strong FP&A work in a well-run finance organization, is curious about how our business makes money, and is practical, detail-oriented, and comfortable in an evolving environment.
What You Do
Run the Forecast and Planning Cycles
- Prepare and consolidate the monthly and quarterly forecast, managing timelines, templates, inputs, and version control.
- Gather and validate inputs from regional controllers, finance business partners, and corporate functions, resolving gaps and inconsistencies.
- Build and maintain the driver-based models behind the forecast, annual operating plan, and long-range plan.
- Prepare planning assumptions, templates, scenarios, and review materials for the annual operating plan and long-range plan.
- Partner with corporate function leaders to prepare their operating expense forecasts and budgets, including headcount and cost center inputs, bringing consistency to cost centers planned today without finance support.
- Maintain the finance calendar and track significant strategic initiatives so their financial impact is reflected in the plan and forecast.
- Analyze forecast accuracy and variances to actuals, and recommend improvements to methods and assumptions.
Deliver Management, Board, and Earnings Reporting
- Prepare monthly management reporting on results, drivers, risks, opportunities, and outlook.
- Draft clear commentary on what changed, why it changed, and what it means for the outlook.
- Prepare analyses and supporting materials for Board meetings and the earnings process, working with senior Finance leaders and Investor Relations.
- Ensure reporting is accurate, reconciled to reported results, well documented, and delivered on time.
Build Models and Analysis
- Analyze business performance, cost, headcount, and productivity to support leadership decisions.
- Build scenario and sensitivity analyses that make key assumptions transparent.
- Apply consistent modeling standards for structure, documentation, and quality review.
Improve Processes and Systems
- Document and improve repeatable forecasting, planning, and reporting processes, reducing manual effort and cycle time.
- Support the transition to Oracle EPM Cloud through requirements, testing, data validation, and process design.
- Simplify, standardize, and automate recurring work using Excel, Power BI, and emerging analytical and AI tools.
Partner Across Finance
- Work closely with regional controllers, Accounting, Treasury, Human Resources, and finance business partners to understand the numbers behind the forecast and reporting.
- Build working relationships across functions and geographies, approaching the business with curiosity.
- At the Manager level, lead workstreams within the forecast and reporting cycles, and review and coach the work of others.
