Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.
At Roblox, we're building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life.
Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device.
We're on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.
A career at Roblox means you'll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.
Roblox's infrastructure supports over 100M DAUs and recently supported a world record 45M players at the same time. The scale is real.
As Director of Engineering, you will own the technical strategy, design, delivery, and operation of Roblox's storage systems.
The challenge is scale, efficiency, reliability, and innovation all at once.
We are mostly on-prem but also in the cloud — yes, we're actually building a lot of this ourselves, and yes, we know how hard that is.
We've got the scale and the talent to do it.
You've spent your career deep in storage: databases, caches, queues, object storage.
You understand that reliability is the most important feature of any system.
You care deeply about the success of the internal and external customers who depend on these systems.
You're excited to shepherd a fast-growing platform from the nearly 1 exabyte we have today to a multi-exabyte deployment that will power some of the most interesting AI workloads in the industry.
